Tina & Jim’s Wedding

We had just over three months from start to finish to plan this stunning wedding for Tina & Jim!  With the help of my amazing vendor partners, we pulled it off flawlessly!

It was a chilly fall day in November and guests gathered in the Grand Salon of the Trump Tower in Toronto.  This wedding was not just a celebration of two people committing their lives together, but also turned into a big reunion.  Family and friends from all around the world who had not seen each other in many years were brought together by this special day.  It was beyond special to be a part of this day.

The ceremony featured some pretty adorable kids, a passage from Dr. Seuss, extremely personal music and a whole lot of love.  We kept the decor to a minimum.  Glossy columns with gorgeous florals marked the “altar” space and white rose petals lined the aisle.  The architecture of the Trump ballrooms is just so amazing, we didn’t want to hide any of it.  We wanted the guests to appreciate the surrounding spaces, and not cover them up.

Following a very emotional ceremony, guests gathered in the massive staircase and posed for a very memorable group photo before heading up to the Trump’s 10th floor for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.  The bride and groom and the bridal party escaped for some quick photos as dusk settled over the city.  The bridal party returned to entertain the guests, while the bride and groom spent time in the reception space, alone, just soaking it all in.

Guests formed a receiving line as the bride and groom opened the Grand Ballroom doors to welcome them to the reception.  While we allowed the ballroom to mostly speak for itself, we introduced deep purple linens to the tables, gorgeous mercury glass vases with classy flower arrangements on the tables.  We custom designed damask style table numbers for each table, which “grew” out of the flower arrangements.  We ran a bit over schedule…but everyone was enjoying themselves, no one seemed to mind.  It allowed for extra catch up time…allowed for the food to be fully enjoyed…and allowed for some pretty spectacular photo ops.

The O&B staff at the Trump were phenomenal to deal with and I was so happy to have them all on my team.  In addition to all of the tasty bites from O&B a custom designed candy table featuring everything purple and elegant – including the bride & groom’s favourite cupcakes and doughnuts were available as part of the late night buffet.  Guests were happy and fed all evening long.

It was a long day from start to finish, but in the end so incredibly worth it as the couple was thrilled with the results.  Tina & Jim, thank you for having CHARCOAL EVENTS a part of your special day.
